Olivia Loves Puppets

That sounds like a new idea someone should run with! The infamous creator of Olivia (The Pig), the cutie pie Ian Falconer and bubbly young friends enjoy a grope from Joey post show. As Joey would say there's more nipple play where that came from...

Date Night

Totally honored that Phil and Jennifer Stanton, otherwise known as Scout's mom and dad, would spend their date night with Arias with a Twist. We have been big fans of Phil and Blue Man Group since the LaMaMa days. My little brother even interned with the show at Astor Place way back when Phil was still performing. (That certainly changed his adolescent mind in ways my mom and dad are still experiencing! Ha!) Phil please send the whole blue men family to visit Joey, we would love to welcome everyone! Maybe we should be the company Christmas Party--now thats a good idea!

Ditch your Entourage

Before the New York premiere of the star studded "The Women", gorgeous Debi Mazar ditches her LA boys and makes the MUST SEE STOP IN NEW YORK to Arias with a Twist. Visiting Joey backstage with the incredible Danilo after the show, these three are sizzling hot...

WELCOME Fauxnique

The incredible Fauxnique was in town this week to perform at The Howl Festival's Low Life, pictured above with Twist backstage in Thompson Square Park. She and Twist are mutual pals of the fabulous Mr. David in San Francisco, who has created amazing puppet couture for many of Twist's original productions over the years. Backstage after the show, Fauxnique and three very cute boys pay homage to the goddess, Ms. Arias.

Check out the LOVE

There is so much LOVE going around about Arias With a Twist, and here is your next installment, straight to the vein... John Topping's review of the show in Stage and Cinema.

Mr Topping feels that it is possibly the best show he's seen in his life!

"How good is it? Let’s see. The best show I’ve seen this year? Yes. The best show I’ve ever seen in my life? Maybe. Among the 10 best theatrical experiences I’ve ever had? Definitely. "

He's in love with the puppets and really seems to GET THEM. He understands that puppetry is EXPANSIVE and fantastic:

"This is comparatively more traditional puppetry, including human figures being manipulated with strings from above. But by no means is it confined to the string variety. To officially be deemed puppetry, it merely requires that something inanimate be brought to life by human agency."

and he dotes on the fact that this is "living and breathing" theater:

"There’s never any question that what you’re seeing are puppets. You see the strings, you see the poles, you catch glimpses of the puppeteers dressed head to toe in black. But it’s more than a puppet show and it’s more than a drag show. It is an explosion of imagination, doled out in gigantic portions of fun. "

And finally he lets you all know that

"it is not merely a good idea to go. You must."
